How to choose the location of the generator room?

After we purchase a diesel generator set, how should the room for storing it be built? What should be paid attention to?

Considering the air intake, exhaust, and smoke exhaust of the generator room, the generator room should be arranged on the first floor. However, the first floor will bring certain noise to the surrounding environment, so it can also be arranged in the basement. Since the basement is not easy to enter and exit, and the natural ventilation conditions are poor, it brings a series of unfavorable factors to the design of the machine room, so you should pay attention to it when designing.

Concerns about the site selection of the computer room:

1. It should not be located in a room without external walls around it, so as to create conditions for the hot air duct and smoke exhaust duct to be discharged outdoors;

2. Try to avoid the main entrance, front facade and other parts of the building to avoid the influence of exhaust and smoke exhaust;

3. Pay attention to the impact of noise on the environment;

4. It should not be located directly below or adjacent to toilets, bathrooms or other places where water often accumulates;

5. It should be close to the substation of the building, which is convenient for wiring, reducing power loss and management;

6. It should not be close to the room to prevent micro-vibration;

Concerns about the layout of the computer room:

1. The diesel generator room should be separated from other parts by a partition wall with a fire resistance limit of not less than 2.00 hours and a floor slab with a fire resistance limit of 1.50 hours;

2. The computer room should have two entrances and exits, one of which should be large enough to meet the requirements of handling the unit. The door should take fire prevention and sound insulation measures and should open outwards.

3. The walls and ceilings around the machine room serve as sound absorbers to absorb part of the sound energy and reduce the reverberation sound caused by sound wave reflection;

4. The layout of the equipment in the machine room should be compact, safe, and easy to operate and maintain.
