Construction Of The Gradyshka Solar Power Plant Accelerates

Bosnian media recently reported that solar power plant construction in the northern Bosnian region of Gradiska is rapidly expanding, with total solar power generation expected to soon exceed the local community's total electricity demand. Zdravko Perić, a power engineer in Gradiska, stated that the expansion of photovoltaic systems in Gradiska is crucial for ecological protection, energy independence, and enhancing the local economy's competitiveness in Western European markets. Gradiska Mayor Zoran Adžić stated that the local government is working diligently to streamline the administrative approval process for photovoltaic energy projects.

Both parties stated that only by adopting renewable energy production can local businesses avoid EU carbon tariffs based on their products' carbon footprint (CO2 emissions).

Adžić revealed that Gradiska currently has a 20-megawatt photovoltaic power plant in operation, covering approximately 50% of the region's electricity needs. A newly approved 60-megawatt photovoltaic power plant project has also completed all land use and building permit approvals.
