Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Prime Minister's Decision No. 2530/QĐ-TTg, approving the "National Action Plan for Air Pollution Control and Atmospheric Environmental Quality Management 2026-2030 and Vision 2045."
The plan proposes to control and gradually improve air pollution in key economic regions from 2026 to 2030, focusing on addressing air pollution in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and surrounding provinces; to enhance air quality prevention and management capabilities nationwide, protect public health, build a green economy, and promote sustainable growth.
By 2030, the national air quality will be gradually controlled and improved; urban transportation infrastructure will be basically complete; public transportation systems will be invested in and upgraded, transitioning to clean energy, green energy, and environmentally friendly transportation modes. Specifically, by 2030, all public transportation in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will use clean energy, green energy, and environmentally friendly energy. After 2030, the air quality in all provinces and cities nationwide will remain at a good level.
