Morocco Ranks Fourth in Africa For Innovation Ecosystem Rankings

According to a recent report, Morocco ranks fourth in Africa, 11th in the Middle East and Africa region, and 80th globally in StartupBlink's 2026 Global Innovation Ecosystem Ranking, with a total score of 43.258. This represents an improvement over the previous year.

Specifically, Morocco demonstrates several strengths: it ranks second in Africa for ease of doing business; and first in North Africa for global mobility and accessibility, reflecting a high level of cross-border openness. Furthermore, Morocco scores between 50% and 75% in indicators such as access to loans and credit, cost of living, and ease of regulation, showing robust performance. However, the report also points out that Morocco still has room for improvement in taxation and fiscal incentives.

A total of 25 African countries are included in the global ranking, with 13 of them ranking in the top 100. South Africa leads the continent (61st globally), followed by Kenya (68th), Cape Verde (70th), Côte d'Ivoire (81st), and Nigeria (95th).
