The fourth Sarajevo Energy Forum (SEF 2026) will be held in Sarajevo from January 28 to 30, 2026. This forum will focus on in-depth discussions of key issues concerning ecological and energy integration in the Western Balkans. Core topics include how to build a more robust, cleaner, and modern regional energy system through interconnected grids, a cleaner environment, and more resilient regional cooperation. The forum will include a panel discussion on current global hot topics-energy storage-and will view battery systems as a new "energy currency" and a major technological trend.
Special attention will be paid to the preparations made by industry and institutions for the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) to be implemented from 2026, exploring the impact of the new carbon restrictions on reporting obligations, competitiveness, and EU market access. The agenda will also cover the role of smart cities in modern urban development and digital energy management, power purchase agreement models, and ESG standards as a business opportunity.
Furthermore, the forum will analyze the electric mobility trends shaping the European and Chinese markets, discuss "prosumers" who are changing public perceptions of energy production and consumption, and focus on issues such as wind energy potential, natural gas interconnection, and regional energy security.
In addition to panel discussions, SEF 2026 will collaborate with the globally renowned Solarex Istanbul and the Bosnian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to host a large-scale expo on energy, electric mobility, technology and innovation, showcasing the latest global achievements in everything from advanced solar energy solutions and battery systems to industrial digitalization, smart cities and electric mobility.
