Tajikistan Asia Express News Agency reported in Dushanbe on January 14 that according to the Energy Transition Index 2024 released by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Tajikistan ranked 71st among 120 countries with a score of 53.6, ranking first among Central Asian countries; Kyrgyzstan ranked 80th among other Central Asian countries with a score of 52.7; Kazakhstan ranked 98th with a score of 50.1; Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were not included in the rating.
Nordic countries are among the top in the world: Sweden ranked first (78.4 points), followed by Denmark (75.2 points) and Finland (74.5 points). The global average score is 56.5 points.
The Energy Transition Index (ETI) is a comprehensive assessment of the world's energy system, with evaluation criteria based on energy system efficiency (weight 60%) and readiness for transition to a sustainable model (weight 40%).
