Asia-Pacific Economic And Trade Development Alliance High-level Dialogue Held in Kuala Lumpur

China News Service, Kuala Lumpur, April 13 (China News Service) The Asia-Pacific Economic and Trade Development Alliance High-level Dialogue was held in Kuala Lumpur on the 12th. Experts and scholars attending the meeting called for countries in the Asia-Pacific region to deepen regional cooperation, adhere to multilateralism, and embrace inclusive innovation in the face of the so-called "reciprocal tariff" policy of the United States and changes in the world's political and economic landscape.

 

Malaysian MP and former Chairman of the Malaysia-China Business Council Chen Guowei criticized the US tariff policy for fueling global protectionist sentiment and making Asia-Pacific countries face more uncertainties in the process of multilateral economic and trade cooperation. Chen Guowei, the initiator of the Asia-Pacific Economic and Trade Development Alliance, pointed out that Malaysia and ASEAN countries should unswervingly deepen multilateral economic and trade cooperation, actively seek cooperation with countries with similar ideas, and jointly defend an open, fair and inclusive international economic and trade order.

 

Nepal's former Prime Minister and initiator of the Asia-Pacific Economic and Trade Development Alliance, Karnal, said in a video speech that despite the various new situations and challenges facing the world, the Asia-Pacific region is still one of the most economically dynamic regions in the world, with great potential for deepening and expanding economic and trade cooperation, and looks forward to further promoting high-quality cooperation in multiple fields among countries in the region.

 

Many political, business and academic figures from China and Malaysia also made suggestions on promoting regional economic and trade cooperation and connecting specific cooperation projects between China and Malaysia at the dialogue meeting.

 

Jin Wensheng, chairman of the Asia-Pacific Daily and initiator of the Asia-Pacific Economic and Trade Alliance, introduced that dozens of experts, scholars and well-known social figures attended the meeting, hoping to promote the integration of industry, media and think tank resources through exchanges, and promote regional economic and trade cooperation and development.
