On November 18, with the completion of the last weld in Haimen, Jiangsu, the China-Russia East Line Natural Gas Pipeline Project, an important eastern energy channel in my country, was completed and entered the final preparation stage before production.

The China-Russia East Line starts from Heihe, Heilongjiang in the north and ends in Shanghai in the south. It is an important part of my country's four major strategic oil and gas channels. The entire line is constructed in sections according to the northern section, the middle section and the southern section. The southern section starts from Yongqing, Hebei and ends in Shanghai. It is 1,509 kilometers long, of which the newly built Anping to Taixing section and Nantong to Luzhi section pipelines are 1,243 kilometers long. The Anping to Taixing section pipeline has been put into operation in 2022. The completed project is the Nantong to Luzhi section of the China-Russia East Line, which is also the last section of the China-Russia East Line.
In 2020, the construction of the southern section of the China-Russia East Line started. The National Pipeline Network Group accelerated the construction progress of each section. By optimizing the excavation plan and promoting the application of 18-meter extension pipes, the overall construction period was completed 7 months ahead of schedule, laying a solid foundation for the smooth connection and commissioning of the entire China-Russia East Line. At present, the various sections of the China-Russia East Line from Heihe, Heilongjiang to Taixing, Jiangsu have been put into operation one after another, and it is expected that the entire line will be connected before the end of this year. So far, the China-Russia East Line has safely and steadily transported more than 78 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
The southern section of the China-Russia East Line crosses 79 large and medium-sized rivers and grade roads, and more than 1,200 small rivers and ditches. During the construction process, the National Pipeline Network Group carried out technical applications such as fully automatic welding of large-caliber and high-grade steel pipelines in water network areas, using advanced welding technology and equipment. Except for the combined automatic welding of the joints, the southern section of the line project all adopted fully automatic welding technology, and the welding pass rate was above 98%.

The China-Russia East Line is the first pipeline in my country to use 1422 mm ultra-large diameter, X80 high-grade steel, and 12 MPa high-pressure grade steel pipes. The full-scale promotion and application of fully automated welding, fully automatic ultrasonic testing, and fully mechanized anti-corrosion patching technologies throughout the line have improved the welding stability and quality of the pipeline while improving the construction efficiency.
