On the evening of May 4, local time, cable theft occurred on multiple railway lines in Toledo Province, Spain, resulting in large-scale delays and even suspension of the high-speed railway line between Madrid and Seville on the 5th, affecting at least 10,700 passengers and 30 trains.
The incident happened at the peak of the holiday return trip, causing inconvenience to many passengers.
Spanish Minister of Transport Oscar Puente said that this was "a serious act of sabotage" and called on the public to provide clues to help identify the person responsible for the theft.
