The 9th Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW) will be held from September 22nd to 26th. This conference aims to serve as a premier platform for dialogue on energy transition and climate change in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans. With the European Union as lead partner and support from numerous international organizations, the conference will promote the development and implementation of sustainable energy strategies through expert discussions.
The conference's core objectives include fostering dialogue among policymakers, experts, and stakeholders, fostering innovative solutions, and strengthening regional resilience to the challenges of energy transition. Swedish Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Helene Lagerlöf said, "Sweden firmly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's green transition, and I am honored to share our leadership in energy transition." Sweden has reportedly participated deeply in the conference for three consecutive years.
As a key supporter, the German Development Bank (KfW) has provided sustainable energy project financing and technical assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina for nearly three decades. The bank emphasizes that energy transition requires comprehensive efforts to address climate change, enhance energy security, and promote sustainable economic development.
This conference will focus specifically on the energy transition process, exploring its challenges and opportunities through panel discussions, workshops, and case studies. Experts, decision-makers and investors from around the world will come together to plan fair and sustainable energy development for the future.
