Ukraine And Greece Reach Gas Supply Agreement

BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens, Greece, on Nov. 16, reaching a natural gas supply agreement and witnessing the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries' gas companies regarding Greek gas supplies to Ukraine, according to the website of the Ukrainian Presidential Palace.

According to reports from Ukrainian media outlets such as *Ukraine Pravda*, the memorandum of understanding stipulates that Greek gas suppliers will supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States to the Ukrainian market between December 2025 and March 2026. The gas is scheduled to depart from the Greek port of Alexandrupolis in January 2026, passing through Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova, before finally arriving in Odessa, Ukraine.

Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the Greek side, stating that this agreement is an important part of Ukraine's large-scale energy plan for this winter.

The agreement was reportedly reached during Zelenskyy's visit to Athens on Nov. 16. On the same day, Zelenskyy also met with Greek President Constantinos Tassouslas in Athens.
